Growing up, I knew I would need friends who I could call at the drop of a hat.
I knew that when the day came for my sister to pass on from this life to the next, I would need friends who would be there for me.
The day my sister passed I told two friends of mine. I didn't expect anything of either of them. I lived in West Jordan, one of them was living in Logan, and the other was living in Provo. I just wanted them to be the first people I told because of how important they are to me.
I was on the phone with them both for maybe thirty seconds apiece. Both of them dropped everything they had that Monday night in late September, to be there for me.
One of those two friends had a letter meant for me, from another close friend of ours. The letter described how much this friend wished that they could be there for me, however, they couldn't due to being on a mission.
Flash forward to last week, all three of those friends went up to the cemetery where my sister is buried, with me. I hate taking people up to the cemetery. It's nothing against anyone else, it's just hard for me to be there with more than one other person.
When these three amazing people told me they wanted to go with me to see my sister's resting place, I knew I needed to take them up on it.
I'm leaving these friends nameless to respect their privacy. I just wanted to immortalize them in this space for being some of the best people I know. I love you three. I wish there was a way to properly thank you each.
