From now on, I will be posting one "Gratitude post" a month.
I figure it's only fitting that my first gratitude post should be about the person who convinced me to go to Snow College. (thus making this blog exist)

I could start the story by just talking about how this person convinced me to go to Snow, but where is the fun in telling a story if you start in the middle?
This story began 15 years ago in November of 2008. I was about midway through kindergarten when my family had to sell our house due to the large medical bills that plagued my family.
I made friends in my new neighborhood pretty fast, I'm sure that surprises no one that a younger version of me would be very charismatic... If only that lasted, haha.
Anyways, the first friend I made was a girl by the name of Rylie Kershaw. Rylie always has been super outgoing and friendly. That friendship is still one I hold in very high regard.

Funny enough, I had a crush on Rylie for a sizeable chunk of time. Even funnier, my grandpa on my dad's side was good friends with her family. So when he caught wind of this. He sat me down, and told me that I needed to marry her because "those Kershaws are good stock".
Now that I've given some background, how did Rylie convince me to attend Snow College? Well, during high school. Rylie and I started going on "Swig Runs" where we would drive to the nearby soda shop and talk about anything and everything that we had going on.
We kept these Swig Runs up after high school. During one of those runs, I explained how unhappy I was at Byu-Idaho, and Rylie listened. She told me about how wonderful snow college is. Granted Rylie was definitely biased due to her being an ambassador at Snow, but I decided to listen to her advice. I decided once I went back to school, I would go to Snow, rather than Byu-Idaho.
I've loved my four months here at Snow College, and I have Rylie Kershaw to thank for that. The moral of this story is, (sometimes) it is a good idea to listen to Rylie's advice.

Rylie sounds like a great gal with some good advice. I'm glad that she convinced you to come to Snow! You've been a really great classmate. I've never considered going to BYUI, but now I definitely never will haha. Having good friends like her in life makes it all worth it, I think. -Jada
