How Anakin did get his scar?

In between the time of Star Wars Episode II and Star Wars Episode III, Anakin Skywalker acquired a scar over his right eye. The movies did nothing to address this change in physical appearance. The scar was added to show the effect the three-year war had on the young man. However, George
Lucas knew the fans would want to know how Anakin got that scar.
So Lucas did what he did best, delagation. He had Genndy Tartakovsky write a series of shorts showing what happened during the Clone Wars. At the beginning of the war Anakin Skywalker was in a duel with Asaaj Ventress on Yavin IV. Although we dont actually see the exact moment the scar appears, he is shown not having it at the start of the fight, and then having it at the end.
However, this fight has since been made non-canon due to the acusition of Lucasfilm by Disney. It is still believed, that Anakin got this scar with Ventress, on the moon of Yavin IV. Because until fans have an offical answer, this is all the answer we have.

For comparrison, here are two different pictures of Anakin. The first takes place in the year 22 BBY the second takes place in 19 BBY.
Also another reference point for my non-star wars fan readers. The Battle of Yavin is the attack on the Death Star that we see in the Original movie, Star Wars: A New Hope. Everything on the star wars timeline is either BBY (Before Battle of Yavin) or ABY (After Battle of Yavin.)

This post has given me an answer to a question I have had for a long time now. I may not know anything about Star Wars but when watching the prequel films, I did notice Annakin got the scar and I wanted to know how. It was this little detail that came back to mind when watching. I'm a sucker for fictional characters with scars because they tell stories, just like this one.

I really like what you said here! I'm not going to lie, I am not a very big Star Wars fan... not because I don't like it or anything, I just haven't taken the time to watch the movies. Certainly I know the basis of it, so this information was helpful and really interesting. Annakin is a cool guy it sounds like. -Jada
