Since 2020, I've been writing Poetry off and on. I've had a number of heavy life occur since the pandemic started over three years ago. When the world fell apart, my English teacher made an assignment that I will forever be grateful for. The assignment was- once or twice a week we were supposed to free-write. This teacher told us to consider writing about how we felt about the brand-new situation we were going through.
During the "free-writing" English assignments, I discovered a love for poetry. It didn't matter whether I was the poet or not, I just found a love for the art form. Emotion has a way of coming through in poetry that is impossible to come by in any other form of writing.
Another English teacher of mine shared with me a poem that I still love to this day; This poem is Invictus.

The poem that you shared is motivating. I really like the ending line and the power that surrounds the words. Like you said in the post, poetry can convey emotion unlike any type of medium and I agree to some degree. It may just be me though, I finds poems more personal and emotional when they are read out loud or preformed. Sometimes hearing how someone's voice strains, strengthens or breaks with each word, carries more emotion and power than it could if it was just words on a page.
